Every runner will go through various stages of emotions during their marathon.  Olympian runners may only experience a few of these emotions, while an amateur runner will face a multitude of mental push-back.

Running a marathon is a remarkable achievement. Just training to reach that status can be brutal on the body and mentally exhausting, not to mention time consuming. But what is it about 26.2 miles that's so important?

Running a half marathon is an achievement. The amount of training involved in running a half is just as arduous and challenging as running a full with the only exception being that it's half the training.

Last year, the Colorado town of Fairplay celebrated its 70th anniversary of pack burro racing - an ultramarathon event where runners run with their burros. It's an "ass-kicking" event that has become a hometown Colorado tradition.
